Each year thousands of people benefit from physical, occupational and
speech therapy as well as wound care provided by the physical medicine and rehabilitation
department of Medical Center Hospital. These dedicated and skilled professionals
assist patients with a wide range of disabilities resulting from stroke, brain injury,
bone fracture, congenital deformity, spinal cord injury, surgery or burns. The
department was even relocated to provide greater accessibility to outpatients and a wider
variety of services to inpatients. The physical medicine and rehabilitation department is staffed by physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, a registered nurse, a certified wound specialist, licensed physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation aides. Our multidisciplinary staff provides services in four distinct specialties - physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and wound care.
