In January 1995, Medical Center Hospital opened the MCH Family Health Clinic to better serve the healthcare needs of the community.   The Clinic, located at 840 West Clements in Odessa Texas, will see anyone in need of medical care, regardless of the financial status, race, religion or ethnic background. Patients pay for services based on their ability to pay, as determined by their income and the number of family members.

The MCH Family Health Clinic receives funding from the Texas Department of Health Community Oriented Primary Care Program. Other income is derived from patient collections, Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance.

The MCH Family Health Clinic continually strives to work with the local medical community to provide those services that are most beneficial to the population. This community-oriented approach identifies health needs in the community which it then tries to meet either by providing services at the Clinic or by referring patients to other healthcare providers.

Services include:

• Family medicine, pediatrics and gynecological services

• Radiological services (x-ray)

• Laboratory services

• Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic disorders, including consultation and referral to specialists when necessary

• Preventative healthcare, such as nutritional assessment, well-adult and well child screening, visual/hearing tests and immunizations

• Newborn follow-through care program

• Health education presentations, materials and counseling for AIDS, nutrition, safety and other topics

• Case management to assure patients receive needed services

• Prescription drugs provided for qualifying patients through the Clinic's Pharmacy

• Walk-ins welcome

If you are interested in applying for the assistance program, the following information must be brought to the Clinic:

• Identification for each household member, such as a driver's license, identification, voter registration card or birth certificate

• Proof of household's monthly income. You must bring in the most recent paycheck stub, a letter from the employer, awards letter or self-employment form which may be obtained from the Clinic's office

• Two documents that prove residency in Ector County, such as utility or phone bills addressed to you or other family members in the household that state the residence address

• Social Security cards for household members (if available)
