Caring Paws is a volunteer service provided free of charge to patients, visitors, MCH volunteers and employees.

Only certified therapy teams are Caring Paws members.  Dogs and their handlers have been screened by their individual therapy organizations and have passed their requirements to become therapy dogs.  All canines have been thoroughly examined by their licensed veterinarians. 

Currently Caring Paws canines are certified with one of three therapy groups:  Therapy Dogs International, Therapy Dogs, Inc. and Delta Society.  All future incoming Caring Paws teams will be prepared with a four week preparatory class, followed by testing by Delta Society.

Caring Paws teams will be providing both day and evening visits and as our numbers grow, the visits will be made weekly. 

The first preparatory class is underway.  Classes will be offered 3-4 times a year.
