Flex Pool

Flex Pool nursing at MCH allows seasoned nurses to make their own schedules and work in various care settings.  To accommodate Flex Pool requirements, nursing units are categorized into five clusters: 

• Maternal/Child Cluster - Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby Unit, Pediatrics, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
• Medical/Surgical Cluster - Medical Units, Oncology Unit, Surgical Unit, Ortho/Neuro Unit, Inpatient Rehab, and Infusion Services.
• Critical Care Cluster - Intensive Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit, Emergency Department, and Chest Pain Center.
• Telemetry Cluster - Cardiac Telemetry and Medical/Surgical Telemetry.
• Perioperative Cluster - Post-Anesthesia care Unit and Day Surgery.

Two-Cluster Flex Pool nurses must have two (2) years experience in at least two of the five clusters and One-Cluster Flex Pool nurses must have 2-years experience in at least one.
