Examples of issues that have been considered by the NPPC include such matters as the appropriate rider for blood administration and how it can be sequestered from other solutions; IV tubing use for piggyback meds; floating of new nurse orientees; and the use of skin care products. Specific issues are brought to the NPPC via what is known as the Opportunity Form, which is available to all MCH nurses. Anyone who is interested in submitting an Opportunity Form is encouraged to actively participate in the process of bringing the issue to the NPPC by either submitting their own ideas, presenting to the council and/or performing research in the area of the issue. Any nurse employed by MCH is welcome to submit an Opportunity Form if they recognize issues that need to be addressed by the MCH nursing community. |
